I find myself in deep gratitude for the land and water I have known in this lifetime. It is part of my body, hence I acknowledge those with a long ancestral lineage here without using their cultural traditions, as I express my gratitude for same gifts.

It seems my ancestors have a long history of diaspora spanning the Anatolian, Balkan, and Apennine, peninsulas. I find it fitting I find myself on one of the Michigan peninsulas in the Great Lake Basin.
